I think I might just be losing my mind. I am swamped with schoolwork, housework, being a mommy, etc yet I felt the crazy desire to enter PR’s Wardrobe Contest that runs from September 1st through November 30th. I’m already a few days behind but that’s OK. Participants need to enter 10 pieces total; 5 tops, 4 bottoms and 1 topper (jacket, cardigan, poncho, etc). All the tops must go with all the bottoms and the topper must go with all outfits.
Now, I don’t know if I will be able to pump out 10 garments between now and the end of November but I lose nothing other than sanity by trying. The worst that can happen is I don’t complete 10 pieces, then I just don’t qualify for voting. Nothing lost but still a few garments gained. This will be my first sewing contest and I am very well aware that I will not win but the point is not to win (though it would be nice), the point is to build a wardrobe, which I am VERY much in need of.
The one thing holding me back, aside from not enough hours in a day, was the fact that I have been on Weight Watchers for a few weeks and I am steadily losing weight (YAY!!!!). I don’t wanna put so much effort into sewing 10 pieces only to have them not fit in a couple of months. So, I think I’m going to aim to err on the side of small (though not too small) for the pieces in hope that I can wear them longer.
I have selected all my patterns and made a preliminary storyboard without the fabric. I have some ideas for the fabric but I have to really think about it since I have to use at least one print and everything must go with everything else. Here’s the storyboard:
