T Minus 11 Hours

The last(ish) minute nerves are starting to kick in.  I picked up the race packet today which includes the race bib, t-shirt, timing tag, etc.  I had never been to a marathon/half marathon expo before so I didn’t know what to expect.  It was actually fairly sizable and there were a lot of freebies.  We came home with a bag full of stuff and only two things in it were paid for; a magnet and a massage stick.  Everything else, from small cereal bars to yogurt to juices, etc., was free.

Now I’m trying to figure out how to get things ready for tomorrow, whether I want to check a bag with dry clothes for the finish line or not bother.  I bought a VIP parking pass for basically the same price that I would have paid for regular parking, and it’s at the finish line.  I’d be very close to my car when I’m done so I could just keep my dry clothes there and get changed.  On the other hand, I don’t know if there will be changing facilities in the parking lot so I may have to go back to the finish line to change anyway.  Decisions, decision!  I still don’t know which shoes I’m going to wear either. All I know is that I am going to have to be out the door no later than 4am because it takes about an hour to drive there and who knows what the traffic will be like.  I have butterflies in my stomach.

Oh, while I was a the expo I “somehow” managed to register for the Miami Beach 13.1 race two weeks from now (March 6th).  I may have truly lost my last marble now. I hope I will have recovered from tomorrow!

Check your gear. You’ll be tired and that walk to the car for dry clothing is going to seem incredibly long. 🙂

Other tip, which you may all ready know- bring toilet paper. You’ll be very glad you did. 🙂 Good luck! I’ll catch you tomorrow after I’m done with mine. 😀
