I’ve been racing for over a year now and I finally got around to repeating a race from the previous year. Make sense? The race was the UPS 5k in Coral Gables which was my second (and worst) race ever last year and I did it again last weekend. The time was horrible last year and it was much better this time around, even if it wasn’t great. That’s not the point of this post though. What I really want to emphasize is the difference that a year makes, not in training, speed, etc, but in appearance. Here are some pictures for comparison:
What a difference a year makes! The funny thing is that I thought I looked good back then! It’s all relative I suppose, I did look good compared to what I looked like the year before that. I’m pretty pleased with myself.

I’m not sure how I stumbled upon your blog, but I’ve been reading it for quite a while. I am new to running and ran my first 5K last year and will run my first 10K in just over a month. I’m also from Miami, but currently live overseas. Anyway, I just wanted to say congratulations! You look amazing and have so much to be proud of. I look forward to following your continued success
