After 3 trips to New York City and almost seven months of living here, I finally visited Ground Zero and the memorial that stands there now. During my first couple of visits to New York, I had made it a point not to visit Ground Zero because the memory of the events was still fresh. After that, it just did not come up. In reality, I wanted to go to the One World Observatory, and the route I took to get there made it impossible not to see the memorial. That said, I am glad that I did; I’m also glad I waited this long.
