Knitting: Falan Hat and Weekender Beret

A few days ago I came to the conclusion that I needed to do some knitting since it has been a long time since I made anything.  I also took advantage of a store credit I had at a local yarn store and bought some lovely yarn, which lead me to come up with something to do with it.  One of the yarns I bought was a gorgeous super bulky wool, but I only bought one hank, so my possibilities were limited, and so the Falan Hat came to be.

It was actually a very easy hat to knit, and very quick, which is not surprising since the yearn is super bulky and the needles large.  I was not sure how I’d like this style but I do like it.

Then I was on a roll so just went with it and started the Weekender Beret, which had been on my to-knit list for years.  For this hat, I used some yarn from my stash.  It’s Patons Shetland Chunky in ice blue tweed. Again, I love it.  I can’t wait until I can wear this next winter.
